5 14 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 200 Metres shifted out, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
6 8 SOMELOVEFROMABOVE (J503) On jumping was bumped by CASHISCASH which shifted out. Held up making the Home Turn.
7 9 STORM RUNNER (J452) Shortly after the start was bumped. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
8 4 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JOLLY JUMPER at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
9 12 CASHISCASH (J369) Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Approaching the 1100 Metres was bumped by BEAR CHAMP which, after improving to the inside of KA YING ATTACK, was then taken in slightly by that runner. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from WORLD HERO. CASHISCASH continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages.
10 6 MISSION STRIKE (J377) Jumped only fairly and shortly after blundered, resulting in its rider L Ferraris becoming unbalanced. Lay in in the Home Straight and for some distance near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind JOLLY JUMPER.
11 5 LUCKY STATEMENT (J521) Bumped on jumping. After the event, Z Purton reported that his mount would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 11 THE AUSPICIOUS (K004) Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and became unbalanced. Near the 100 Metres shifted to the outside of STORM RUNNER to continue into clear running.
13 7 PATCH OF LUCKY (J349) Approaching the 400 Metres raced in restricted room between SOMELOVEFROMABOVE which shifted out slightly and ETALON OR which shifted in. Near the 300 Metres raced tight between CALIFORNIA MOXIE and BEAR CHAMP, both of which shifted ground slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 10 BEAR CHAMP (J313) After the event, A Atzeni stated that when he was concerned there may be something amiss with his mount in the Home Straight, he eased it down from the race when not in a competitive position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR CHAMP will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
