Racing Incident Report

1 11 ENTHRALLED (K252) Bumped at the start. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. B Avdulla pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference leaving the 200 Metres (see SHARPEN BRIGHT). Sent for sampling post-race.
2 7 PRAY FOR MIR (J245) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) B Avdulla (ENTHRALLED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 200 Metres he shifted his mount to the outside of DEFINITIVE when not clear of SHARPEN BRIGHT, resulting in SHARPEN BRIGHT having to be steadied to avoid the heels of ENTHRALLED. B Avdulla was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 26 March 2025 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
4 8 DEFINITIVE (K037) No report.
5 12 SPANISH FLAME (K013) Shortly after the start was bumped by ENTHRALLED. In the early stages raced keenly. Near the 1500 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from THE BEST PEACH.
6 14 MIDORI GIANT (K095) After the event, C Williams stated that the intention was to find cover. He said when caught wide in the early stages and when the pace of the event eased after the 1600 Metres he allowed MIDORI GIANT to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground. He added, in his opinion, this may not have suited the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 2 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 5 THE BEST PEACH (H139) Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind TALENTS AMBITION.
9 4 CAMBRIDGE (K085) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the final 100 Metres was held up for clear running between TALENTS AMBITION and SPANISH FLAME.
10 3 AGENDA (K160) Jumped only fairly.
11 6 NAVAL FORCE (K158) After the event, T Marquand stated that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race but did not finish the race off when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 13 STELLAR GRANDE (J189) Jumped only fairly and then was badly crowded on jumping between PRAY FOR MIR and THE BEST PEACH, both of which shifted ground. When the pace steadied near the 1500 Metres raced keenly for some distance thereafter. In the Home Straight hung in and proved difficult to ride out.
WV 1 ROMANTIC THOR (K012) Withdrawn on 1.3.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind). Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC THOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV 9 FAMILY JEWEL (J390) Withdrawn on 27.2.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, FAMILY JEWEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
