SUPER STRONG KID (K180) jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded. When questioned regarding his riding over the final 400M, rider stated that after following the 5th placegetter and the 9th placegetter he elected to shift in to improve into the event near the 400M and follow the 6th placegetter. He said when the 6th placegetter did not improve as he had expected he then became held up for clear running between the 6th placegetter and the 5th placegetter which shifted in. He said as a result near the 200M he elected to shift to the outside of the 5th placegetter and the 7th placegetter to secure clear running and near the 150M his mount was momentarily crowded when the 7th placegetter shifted out. He added as a result he was obliged to
correct his mount near the 150M to avoid causing interference to the 9th placegetter and over the final 100M his mount finished the race off well. After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider was reasonable in the circumstances - Race 466. |
