After the event rider stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after being slow to begin his mount settled further back in the field than instructed - Race 606.

He said when caught wide in the early stages he was unable to comply with the instructions and as a result his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover until near the 800M. He added that due to the wide run in the early stages and the fact that the horse had a hard run at its most recent start on 2 March 2025, his mount gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 530.
