Background: Anthony Freedman is the third eldest of racing’s famous Freedman brothers. He has been in integral part of the Freedman Racing operation since the mid-1980s and since the start of the 2011/12 season, he has been the head trainer. He trained his first official Group 1 winner when Mawingo won the 2012 Doomben Cup in Brisbane, and he formed Anthony Freedman Racing at the start of the 2012/13 season and since then he has trained over 400 winners. Sam is the youngest son of Anthony, who spent two years with Roger Varian. He joined his father in a training partnership in 2020/21 and since then the pair have enjoyed great success, notably claiming a Caulfield Cup-Melbourne Cup double in 2023 with Without A Fight. |
