| Background: Atsuya Nishimura started riding horses as a student. He joined the JRA Horse Riding School in 2015 and debuted as a jockey in 2018. He rode his first winner not long after and won his first Group race aboard Gibeon in the 2021 G2 Kinko Sho. He has since had a successful association with Elton Barows, winning the 2023 G2 Mainichi Okan and 2023 G3 Radio Nikkei Sho. In 2024, he won the Sprinter Stakes and G3 Silk Road Stakes aboard Lugal, plus the G3 Fairy Stakes aboard Ipheion. |
