Racing Incident Report
CAI BAO IN and EUPHEMISM were slow to begin. After the 1400 Metres, CAI BAO IN raced greenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEST NOODLE. After the 1200 Metres, GRAND ELITE was left racing wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, SURROUNDED commenced to over-race and shifted out when checked away from the heels of REDOUTE STAR. EUPHEMISM, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of SURROUNDED, resulting in that horse and BEST NOODLE being taken wider. CAI BAO IN, which was following EUPHEMISM, was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence. After this, BEST NOODLE was left racing wide and without cover and near the 600 Metres was allowed to improve into a more forward position. WATCH FIRST had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and then after the 200 Metres hung in and proved very difficult to ride. Near the 350 Metres, CAI BAO IN was shifted in away from the heels of HUMONGUS. Approaching the 200 Metres, DISPATCHER was shifted to the inside of CHAMPION MOUNT after being disappointed for running to the outside of that horse and inside REAL GENEROUS which got its head on the side and shifted in. Over the concluding stages, HUMONGUS was steadied when disappointed for running between WATCH FIRST which continued to hang in and DISPATCHER which shifted out. Because of this, HUMONGUS was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages. Close to the finishing line, DISPATCHER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHAMPION MOUNT. Because of this, DISPATCHER was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race as it otherwise would be. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SUPER HORSE, O Doleuze stated that with blinkers added today, he was instructed to ride the horse in a forward position as it had previously been successful when ridden in this manner. He said he rode SUPER HORSE along in the early stages and was able to obtain the lead approaching the 1400 Metres. He said that SUPER HORSE travelled satisfactorily in the run, however, when HAPPY SEVEN improved its position to the outside of SUPER HORSE rounding the Home Turn, SUPER HORSE commenced to give ground and was most disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. He added that after the race he advised the connections of SUPER HORSE to remove the blinkers from the horse’s gear and to give consideration to riding it more patiently as it did not finish off its race when ridden in a forward position today. A veterinary inspection of SUPER HORSE after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on DISPATCHER at the request of Trainer J Size. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, DISPATCHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HUMONGUS, REAL GENEROUS and CHAMPION MOUNT were sent for sampling.
