After considering the evidence, the Stewards found that making the Home Turn the 4th placegetter shifted to the outside of the 5th placegetter to obtain clear running and a short distance later then made contact with the horse, resulting in the horse being badly crowded between a runner and the 4th placegetter. As the Stewards were satisfied that had that incident not have occurred that the horse would have finished in advance of the 4th placegetter, the protest/objection was sustained and the placings amended - Race 246.

After the event, rider stated that the intention was to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said his mount jumped well in the event and went forward without being pressure to do so - Race 247.

When questioned, rider stated that the intention was to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages as the horse had a tendency to race keenly in its most recent race starts. He said as the start was effected his mount shifted in abruptly and made contact with a runner and then shortly after was steadied when crowded. Trainer confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions as the horse had raced disappointingly when ridden in a forward position in its most recent starts when it raced keenly - Race 239.

Approaching the 300M raced in restricted room for a short distance. After the event, rider reported that his mount came under pressure at the 600M and failed to respond to his riding thereafter. He added that his mount made a respiratory noise after the winning post. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance as a last start winner compared to its previous starts was considered to be disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 165.
