9 J155  GREAT SPIRIT  29/12/2024   300  GREAT SPIRIT (J155) jumped only fairly. After the event, rider stated that after settling behind midfield in the early stages, his mount was disadvantaged when the pace of the event between the 800M and the 400M was run outside of standard time which resulted in his mount not travelling well during that section of the race. He added in the Home Straight his mount was held up for clear running between the 400M and the 300M when positioned behind a runner and in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with its performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 300.

12 H197  TACTICAL COMMAND  12/01/2025   338  TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) when questioned regarding his riding in the early stages and the reason his mount lost ground from the main body of the field, rider stated that the instructions from the outside barrier were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said his mount jumped well and when it was travelling strongly soon after the start, he elected to restrain his mount to comply with the instructions and to ensure that it did not hold a forward position. He said as a result he lost ground on the main body of the field and agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect he had restrained his mount too long in the early stages which resulted in it losing ground. Rider was advised that in similar circumstances he must show better judgment to ensure that his mounts are given every possible chance to win and obtain the best possible placing - Race 338.
13 G003  FUN N GLORY  29/12/2024   301  FUN N GLORY (G003) bumped at the start. Lay in in the Home Straight. When questioned, rider stated that the instructions were to hold a forward position preferably with cover. He said in the early stages his mount was unable to cross runners to its inside and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added due to the wide run he then in the early part of the Home Straight held his mount together before riding it along near the 300M, however, his mount did not respond to his riding and gave ground thereafter, which he attributed to the horse racing wide and without cover - Race 301.
14 H133  TALENTS SUPREMO  08/01/2025   332  TALENTS SUPREMO (H133) bumped at the start. When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and the reason he did not shift to the outside of a runner to obtain clear running, rider stated that from a wide barrier the instructions were to allow his mount to settle where comfortable and to take up a position behind midfield. He said he was also instructed to save the horse up for a run in the Home Straight over the final 250M as his mount has a short sprint. He said making the Home Turn when following a runner, his mount was travelling only fairly and for that reason he encouraged the horse to hold its position behind that runner. He said as he did so his mount commenced to travel strongly and when that runner shifted out slightly, that resulted in his mount improving to that runner’s inside and then being held up for clear running until approaching the 200M. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and advised that the horse races best when ridden in that way. Trainer expressed satisfaction with the manner in which rider had ridden the horse on the Home Turn. After considering the evidence and the explanation provided by rider, the Stewards found that he had made an error of judgement on the Home Turn in not positioning his mount to the outside of a runner which would have resulted in the horse obtaining clear running sooner than what it did on that occasion. However, the Stewards were satisfied, having regard to the instructions particularly, that it was not blameworthy in the circumstances - Race 332.
